Going's On

Here are the girls' tote bags they made--traced home-made pattern (actually I cut open a store-bought bag), cut it out, and sewed the bag. They also picked out the fabric and the big button on the tab. Sorry they are in grubby clothes. They were given permission to go play in the mud after I read a story about imagination from an article my sister sent me. Bro. Mo. was at his office printing out our movie tickets for our hot date tonight when I instant messaged him and told him the twins were napping and the girls were playing in the mud. So he said we should go out and play with them; which we did when he got home. And then he squirted us all with the hose And finally, here are the girls' recipe books. Just a $1 store photo album covered with their choice of scrapbook paper, modpodge and stamped letters to spell "their name" and "recipes." They love to use them every time they want to make lunch (i.e., grilled cheese sandwiches or cheese crisps.) --photo deleted by author--

And the other day we made Martha Stewart's One-Bowl chocolate cupcakes because *E* was bored after having some privileges taken away. So she wrote up the recipe on a card, stuck it in her book, and we made 'em. This is naked, of course. Part of the reason we made these is because I had plenty of purple buttercream that needed to be used up.

The twins love fruit. Bro. Mo. was cutting a canteloupe the other day and they climbed on the chair to watch--and eat.

Grandma Lois would be so proud. We went to our Annual Ward Family History Fair last night and it was dessert potluck--supposed to bring a family recipe. Well, my grandma's fudge is as family traditional as it gets. Right down to the brand of ingredients you use and whether you are brave or cowardly when you stir it for 5 minutes and let the hot fudge pop up and burn you. And of course, you have to pour it into the pan just the right way so it gets its wrinkles.

I have been on a modpodge crazy kick lately. Finally got my other recipe book done and decided to do my checkbook cover as well.

We decided to make breakfast for dinner this past week for our dinner co-op. Sausage, egg, green chile, cheese and tater tot breakfast burritos, peach-n-berry yogurt parfaits and chocolate-frosted cheerio bars for dessert. The next day *A* had a parfait for lunch too. She is my official fruit junkie.

The twins ♥LOVE♥ blueberries too. Sorry Grandma--it's a no to the raspberries.
