Media Hiatus

I have been bloomin' bloggy absent. *E* would be so proud that I applied the use of alliteration.

Our Stake leaders admonished us to abstain from TV, Internet, Movies, and video games this past week in preparation for our Ward Conference yesterday. Sports were missed. And Bro. Mo. even got a bit remiss in the fact that we couldn't watch Rosanne at night as we lay beside each other in bed. Yes, he has become hooked.

But, try it. Try going one week w/o using your TV or computer or precious gaming systems. I am so proud of my children. They didn't complain and were there to remind us of the "media fast" as it was called. And it is amazing what the kiddos can find to occupy themselves when they know the media things are not even an option. I walked out one morning to see *A* lying on the floor with her legs propped up on my tall, skinny black bookshelf in the loft (which is FILLED with children's books--one of my glutonous pleasures) reading before any of us woke up. Or they play "cooking show" outside with the treasures of the outdoors (and a few of my dishes.)

So now Bro. Mo. is plotting our FHE lesson which will include blessings we obtained and future plans to institute media fasts into our life.
