First Day of School--July 18, 2011

*E* 5th grade--requested Mr. DeRyke. A motorcycle-ridin', ceiling-pencil-throwin', halfway-house volunteerin', double earring wearin', Howie Mandel-style goatee sportin' DUDE-of-a-teacher. He came to do the annual home visit and confirmed our suspicions that the house directly behind us is, indeed a "halfway house." He knows the owner and all the guys that live there temporarily to get their lives back on track because he volunteers at the Salvation Army to help them. It was interesting and a one-in-a-million chance that out of all the teahcers and all the houses we could buy--he would be directly involved. He does some crazy, interesting things for a teacher but he is great for *E*.

*A* 3rd grade--Mrs. Barela (requested a different teacher but school enrollment increased, a new 3rd grade class had to be created and *A* got moved.) And *A* being the girl she is--notices everything her teacher wears and comments on how practical or non-practical it is. Our little fashionista. She hasn't had her home visit yet so all I really know is she has a 7th grader and a 4th? grader. She loves everything DISNEY and every assignment or paper sent home is done in a Disney font.

It looks like your girls are keeping you busy. I bet you miss having E and A home to help with the twins. They are all growing up so fast.

Oh man, your girls remind me of myself in elementary SO much! I was a combination of the two though, I think. They are awesome!
